End of Month #1

Well, its the end of month one and things are going pretty well.  I stuck to the diet flawlessly, so I am proud of that.  Still need to work on the excercise part although I am pretty active in my job so I am not just laying on the couch. The results show as well:

Weight: 200
Waist: 40 inches

Weightloss to Date: 10 pounds

On to February...

Week 2

Well, I am not getting to update things as much as I would like.  Work is pretty crazy right now, so I am not getting online as much.  That is probably a good thing, but it makes keeping a blog about discipline difficult!

The diet is going great.  No cheating at all...mainly because I love bacon.  My wife has done a great job of helping me with meals.  She is much more creative than I am (and a LOT hotter, which has nothing to do with cooking, but its a great perk of being married to her).

My workouts are still spotty.  My schedule makes regular workouts very difficult, but if I am going to win this then I have to make time.

I forgot to put up my stats for the beginning of this whole thing.  So, fwiw...

Weight: 210
Waist: 41 inches
Bodyfat: 103%
Difference between me and Matthew McConaughey: To borrow a phrase from Jesus...As far as the east is from the west

I hope that by the end of the year, I will improve all of these stats.  (OK, the bodyfat number is a bit exagerated, but the rest is totally accurate)

End of Week 1

End of week one and I feel like it has gone well.  Since this is a blog about discipline I will mostly focus on what I did wrong rather than a list of things I did right.  The diet part when perfectly with no cheating.  My workout discipline has to get better though.  My work schedule makes it difficult to keep a regular workout time so I have to get better about motivating myself when I am tired at the end of a day that I am supposed to workout.

On a positive note, I finally got through the inevitable carb withdrawal headache that lasted for a couple of days.  But that is gone and I am already noticeably less hungry than usual due to the focus on protein rather than carbs.  I have to continually guard against boredom when eating like this because there are only so many ways I can prepare a salad or cook a chicken breast.  But its not nearly as hard as a calorie controlled traditional diet.

I guess that is it for now.  Keep it going!
